Nino Tronchetti Provera

Nino Tronchetti Provera is Ambienta’s Founder and Managing Partner, one of Europe’s largest and most established asset managers exclusively focused on environmental sustainability.

In his final university dissertation in 1991, guided by the idea that environmental sustainability is the most mega of all mega trends, Nino theorized that by riding this wave one could not only positively impact the environment but also reap superior financial returns.  In 1993, he established McKinsey’s first environmental practice globally at the Milan office, and in 1997 he became an entrepreneur in the sector with the creation of Cam Tecnologie, focused on cleaner fuels and wind energy. After playing a decisive role in the creation of the Kyoto Club in Europe (the association of European environmental entrepreneurs), Nino gave concrete shape to his vision by founding Ambienta in 2007. 

In 2022, he received the inaugural ESG Hall of Fame award from Real Deals, which recognized him for the ability to proactively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders alike and the success in the implementation of ESG strategies in the firm. The award also highlighted Ambienta’s proprietary ESG in Action program, considered a distinctive and cutting-edge model in the industry. Prior to founding Ambienta, he held executive roles within the Telecom Italia Group, first as Chief Executive Officer of Finsiel and subsequently as General Manager of Olivetti. He is Chairman of the Ambienta Foundation and a member of the Board of the San Patrignano Foundation.

He holds a degree (cum laude) in Business Administration from Luiss University, Rome, and an MBA from INSEAD.
