Jimmy Spithill

Jimmy Spithill is an Australian sailor and a two-time winner of the America's Cup. At 30, he made history by becoming the youngest skipper ever to win the America's Cup, aboard the trimaran Oracle Racing USA17. In 2013, in San Francisco, his team, Oracle Team USA, successfully defended the Cup.

He spent many years in the International Match Racing Tour and the One Design Fleet Racing Circuit, winning multiple World Championships and National Championships in both disciplines. He made his debut in the Sydney-Hobart in the iconic 1998 edition and went on to win the race twice with Comanche, in 2015 and 2017, setting a record that still stands unbeaten. In 2014, he was named World Sailor of the Year and won the Sailor of the Year award in Australia in both the youth and open categories. He was inducted into the Australian Sailing Hall of Fame and, recently, it was announced that he will be inducted into the America's Cup Hall of Fame in October 2025. During the 35th edition of the America's Cup, he led Oracle Team USA to victory in the Louis Vuitton Qualifiers. In the subsequent editions, the 36th and 37th, he joined Luna Rossa Challenge as helmsman.

In 2021, he became the CEO and helmsman of the U.S SailGP team. In November 2023, he left the U.S. team to found the Red Bull Italy SailGP team, where he is the CEO.
