"Believe in humans"

Marco Trombetti

Marco Trombetti is a visionary computer scientist, serial entrepreneur, investor, and ocean sailor. In 1999, he co-founded Translated with Isabelle Andrieu to address one of humanity’s biggest challenges: enabling everyone to understand and be understood in their own language. Translated is a leader in AI-supported translation, with over 500,000 customers including Google, Airbnb, and Uber. The company is committed to advanced research and innovation, continually pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in language translation. In 2023, Marco embraced adventure by entering the Ocean Globe Race, an event marking the 50th anniversary of the Whitbread Round the World Race. His yacht, Translated 9, represented pushing boundaries with the motto “We believe in humans.” Despite challenges like a hull breach near Cape Horn, his team’s determination highlighted the excitement of sailing. Marco’s bold approach earned him the Spirit of the OGR prize and the Fabio Gallia Trophy by Swan. Marco is also the author of “The New Prince – Why and How to Startup,” a collection of essays that provide new insights into entrepreneurship, showing strategies leading to success without relying on half-truths. His work reflects his visionary approach, emphasizing innovation and the potential of human creativity.
